The York Region Alliance of African Canadian Communities is based on a series of founding principles; encouraging cohesive families, embracing respect for all religions, races, and cultures, practicing integrity and transparency, helping one another, and advocating for progressive change. These principles of acceptance and inclusion are also at the core of our government.
It was wonderful to celebrate Black History Month with them as we highlighted and honoured the many contributions of Black Canadians in our community and in communities across the country.
