Canadian women business leaders and entrepreneurs are driving trade forward. That’s why I’ve spent the last few days in the UK leading Canada’s first ever Women’s Trade Mission to the United Kingdom.

 

We welcomed nearly 40 Canadian women business leaders from a variety of sectors, including cleantech, information & communications technology and life sciences.

Here is what was on the itinerary:

 

Meeting with Kemi Badenoch, United Kingdom Secretary of State for Business and Trade, to discuss promoting jobs, investment, strengthening our ties, and progress on the United Kingdom’s accession into the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

Visiting UK-based Marshall Technologies who operate and do business in Canada.

Touring an iconic London double-decker bus powered by Canada-based Ballard’s fuel cell technology.

Speaking to Cambridge Union Society and leading a discussion on Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy and the importance of advancing inclusive trade.
