Family Day celebrates the importance of families and family life. It reflects the values that are most dear to Canadians

This Family Day I spent some time at the Intergenerational  Family Day & Games at Armadale Community Centre in Markham.

The Hon.  Minister Jean-Yves Duclos announce the EI Parental Sharing Benefit. This givies families up to 5 more weeks of EI benefits when they share parental leave, and gives both parents an opportunity to build a stronger bond with their child and promotes greater gender equality at home. This is another way we’re working to build a Canada where everyone has a fair and equal shot at success.

Our government will continue to promote gender equality at home and in the workplace, because when women are given a fair chance to succeed–everyone wins.
