National crime data shows that York Region continues to be among the safest communities in Canada. However, gun and gun violence have become a growing concern in the GTA and across Canada. To keep our communities safe and combat gun violence in Canada, our government has taken progressive steps:

- Invested $213,350 in the Yellow Brick House, an organization supporting women and children fleeing violence. The funding enhanced their organizational capacity so they could continue their important work of supporting abused women and their children, and promoting social and systemic change in Richmond Hill and Ontario’s York Region.
