Climate change is having a greater impact on communities which is why we are bringing support to them to adapt to the frequent and intensifying weather events. Earlier today, I joined Mayor Frank Scarpitti and Members of City Council as we delivered great news for the City of Markham’s Flood Protection Program for the Don Mills Channel, West Thornhill and Thornhill Community Centre. With an investment of $48 million through the Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation Fund, we are ensuring that families, business, and important services the community relies on, are protected.
