Safe Voluntary Isolation Sites Program
- Our government is providing $100M in direct federal funding to municipalities, provinces, and
territories under the Safe Voluntary Isolation Sites Program (SVISP).
· $23.7M over 6 months for Ontario to establish 1600 rooms across high-risk
communities in Toronto, Peel, York, and Durham.
· $17.8M over 12 months for Windsor to operate SVISP sites for TFWs.
· $1.5M over 6 months for Thunder Bay to operate a SVISP site.
· $336K for Sault Ste. Marie to operate a SVISP site with 8 rooms.
· up to $1,374,788 for the Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board with
five sites totalling 120 rooms
· up to $323,672 for Hamilton with one site totalling 14 rooms
· $4.7M over 7 months for Ottawa
· $4.1M over 15 months for Waterloo to continue a SVISP site
Bilateral Agreements on Virtual Care
- The Government of Canada is providing the Province of Ontario with $46M in direct funding to enable Canadians to access their mental and physical healthcare providers via virtual platforms.

Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit (Extended until May 7, 2022)

Up to 6 weeks if you meet the eligibility criteria and are not in receipt of any EI benefits or paid leave from your employer for the same week

CRSB extends to May 7, 2022. The CRSB is extended until May 7, 2022 with an increase to the maximum number of weeks from 4 to 6 weeks.
You may qualify for the CRSB assistance if you:
- are employed or self-employed at the time of the application
- have missed a minimum of 50% of your scheduled work because:

- you are sick with or may have contracted COVID-19
- you have isolated yourself for reasons related to COVID-19
- you have underlying conditions that would make you more susceptible to COVID-19
Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit (Extended until May 7, 2022)

$500 per week (before taxes)

Up to 44 weeks per household between September 27, 2020 and May 7, 2022, if you meet the eligibility criteria and are not receiving any EI benefits or paid leave from your employer for the week for which you are claiming the CRCB

CRCB extends to May 7, 2022. The CRCB is extended until May 7, 2022 with an increase to the maximum number of weeks from 42 to 44 weeks.
You may qualify for the CRCB assistance if you:
- are employed or self-employed at the time of the application
- have missed a minimum of 50% of your scheduled work because you are unable to work in order to provide care for a child under the age of 12 or a family member, because:
- their school, daycare, day program, or care facility is closed or unavailable due to COVID-19
- the person who usually cares for your child or family member is not available for reasons related to COVID-19
- they are sick and/or have been directed to quarantine for reasons related to COVID-19
- they are at high risk of serious health complications if they contracted COVID-19
Canada Worker Lockdown Benefit
You may qualify for the CWLB assistance if:
- your employment or self-employment was interrupted by public health COVID-19 lockdowns and are unable to work due to such restrictions
- you work in a region that has been designated as a COVID-19 lockdown region. Your region may be designated as a lockdown region if it has been in lockdown or subject to capacity-limiting restrictions for 7 consecutive days or more
Service Canada
- If you are having trouble with your EI application or account, or you need to adjust your CERB application, you can reach the staff through an online service request form.
- Someone from Service Canada will be in touch with you within two business days.
