That’s a wrap on ASEAN 2023 with @JustinTrudeau. Congratulations to Indonesia for hosting a successful presidency and thank you to all ASEAN members, Canada looks forward to deepening our collaboration as a Strategic Partner. This will create opportunities, open doors for businesses to grow and create good jobs for workers in ASEAN and in Canada.
Two way trade with ASEAN is up 30% from last year - and we’re doing more! I’ll be back in the region, leading 5 new Team Canada Trade Missions in 2024! We announced the opening of an Export Development Canada (EDC) office in Jakarta to work with our businesses to expand exports in this dynamic market. And to further expand our presence in the region, we appointed the first Canadian Indo-Pacific Trade Representative.
