Every May, our country honours the important contributions to Canadian heritage and identity that people of Asian ancestry have made. This year, the theme for the Government of Canada's Asian Heritage Month Campaign is Passing it Forward: Culture through the Generations.

As a daughter of Chinese immigrants, and a first generation Canadian, I can intimately speak to the importance of ensuring cultural heritage is honoured and passed down for generations to come.
