A Diverse and Inclusive Canada

No one should ever feel unsafe or threatened because of who they are.

Ending racism and discrimination requires ongoing commitment. As we work to build a more inclusive Canada for all, we must commit ourselves to taking action by challenging and confronting racism and discrimination in all of its forms.

I have spoken out and shared my perspective. I have spoken with MacLean’s magazine, the Canadian Press, Politico, and with Mercedes Stephenson on The West Block. I join my colleagues in calling on all Canadians to take action against racism in all of its forms.

  • In February 2021, we tabled legislation to reform sentencing and address systemic racism in our justice systems.
  • The Community Support, Multiculturalism, and Anti-Racism Initiative also received $15 million under the Anti-Racism Strategy.
